These days I am into abstracts, starting with what I call a roadmap.  I draw, paint and then scrape away the oils, and do all again.  I mixed my colors and mixed more colors, and my piles of oil overlapped...so that they are harmonious. I did not plan anything, it all happened and the prussian blue lines/vase was put in at the very end...so now I have an abstract floral.  This painting is drying in the studio.  Contact Kay for more info.  Thanks for looking at my blog.  KMW

On my easel...

On my easel....

Yesterday I pulled off a large piece of canvas and taped it up

to a piece of birchwood.  I started by toning it, then drawing on

it with willow charcoal.  Then I started painting with a filbert.

Using a rubber tool, I started removing some of the paint.

More studio work today.

This painting is finished, and is drying in the studio.  It's interesting that I see different things in this painting than others do.  I started with a roadmap of Texas.  About half way through the painting my husband saw a map of the United States.  My cousin sees a big mouth bass (Big Billy Bass) in it, and one of my studio mates see a vase with flowers in abundance covering the entire canvas.  Let me know if you have a title suggestion for this one.  I love the colors, lines and shapes that flow from each other.  I used oils, oil bars and charcoal on this one.  So it is a mixed media piece.  Thanks for looking at my blog.  Contact Kay for more info.  Kay Wyne
