Morning Rose

Morning Rose
10" x 10" Oil on Panel
Contemporary Floral
While strolling through a beautiful Tucson neighborhood, I captured a photo of one exquisite yellow rose in a stunning garden.  I was amazed at the colors and full shapes of the yellow roses.  I wanted to capture it's rolling petals as the stucco home was the backdrop for this painting.  I wish I had knocked on the front door and thanked the owners for having such a show-stopper of a front yard!  This painting is very wet...and it is drying in the studio.  Contact Kay for more info.  This painting is available for purchase.  KMW

Floral Fanfare

Floral Fanfare
9" x 29" Oil on RayMar Cotton Panel
Contemporary Floral
This exuberant painting is a montage of colorful and diverse botanicals, bursting forward to capture the attention and spark the imagination of the viewer.  I painted for months on this panel, adding and deleting different blooms along the way.  I want the viewer to explore the various colors and shapes that are packed into this canvas.  This painting would be a wonderful addition to a home or office setting.  This painting is available for purchase.  Contact Kay for more info.  Thanks, KMW

Fresh Pick

Fresh Pick
12" x 12" Oil on RayMar Cotton Panel
Contemporary Floral Still Life
A bird's eye view of this arrangement while sitting on the front porch this summer Up North was the inspiration for this painting.  Who new that nephew JH had flower arrangement skills!  I believe he carefully hand-picked these stems and then made the arrangement, which I complimented him on!  I quickly snapped a bird's eye view and used my photo in the studio.  Here's my photo:

Still Life Diptych (untitled)

Untitled Abstract / Diptych
(I need help on the titles!)
Each canvas 16" x 16" / Hung together, 16" x 32"
Oil and Charcoal on Gallery Wrap Canvas
I painted these canvases side by side in the studio.  I wanted each canvas to be it's own painting, but they could also hang together and compliment each other.  I love the color palette and looseness of the paintings.  I painted, scraped, and drew on them.  The abstractness of the still life lets the viewer's eye roam the paintings to see and discover new shapes and possibilities.  I am letting these dry in the studio...and then they need a new home!  Thanks for looking.  Kay

On The Table

On The Table
20" x 20" Oil and Charcoal on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Abstract Still Life
I think this canvas is finished...it is sitting on my easel in the studio.   I will take a few days to live with it, and maybe make a few minor changes.  Fun shapes, whimsical marks and bold colors give this canvas eye appeal.  Thanks for looking at my blog....Kay
