Boat Party

 Boat Party
(Thank you, LB for the title recommendation.)
38" x 44" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Seascape/Palette Knife Painting
This painting has been on my easel for months, and I just put my last brushstroke on it.  Now it is drying in the new studio, waiting to be varnished.  I started with a reference photos from Naxos, then added a boat from Scotland, and finally some Michigan boats.  I just found out that this painting has been accepted into the Dutch Art Gallery Annual Juried Art Show!  Thanks for looking at my art....Kay

Get Ready

Get Ready
12" x 16" Oil on RayMar Cotton Panel
I started this painting in a workshop, finished it in the studio.  Lots of attention was paid to the light and shadows in this scene.  I used a limited palette of six colors and white.  "Get Ready" has a calmness to it, and the water has reflections that pull the eye into the painting.  This panel is drying in the studio, waiting to get framed up.  Thanks for looking at my blog.  I have more paintings in different stages going at the studio!  Contact Kay with any comments or questions.  KMW

Meet Me At The Dock

Meet Me At The Dock
40" x 30" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Abstract
Sitting on the dock is a great past time, and my inspiration for this painting came from the water and docked boats Up North last summer.  The Michigan blues are beautiful, and I found a great group of boats pulled up to the dock on a warm July afternoon.  This painting is available for purchase, with framing as an option.  All four sides of the canvas are painted, so it is ready to hang!  Contact Kay for more info.  Thanks, KMW

High Tide

High Tide
NFS
18" x 18" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Seascape Painting
I started this beach painting about ten years ago, and with John's urging, I finished it this week!  You may know the man sitting in the chair, watching the tide roll in with water splashing up.  When I starting this painting, the water was calm and smooth, but I decided that it was more interesting with the waves coming in as you are sitting on the beach.  I'm glad I finally completed it, as it is a gift to a very special couple.  Thanks for looking...I am in the studio today starting a new project!  Have an artful day, Kay

Meet Me At The Dock by Kay Wyne

Meet Me At The Dock
40" x 30" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
I just varnished this painting at the studio yesterday, and now this painting is ready for a new home.  It will be in an upcoming exhibit in Ft. Worth.  When I look at this painting, it immediately takes me back to our summer in Charlevoix.  The Michigan colors of the water and sky are unlike any other.  Contact Kay for more information on this painting or any of the other pieces posted here on this blog.  Thanks for looking, Kay
