On The Porch

On The Porch
12" x 16" Oil on Panel
Contemporary Still Life
It's summertime on the front porch, looking at the lake with some fresh peonies blooming.  A typical Michigan day, filled with sunshine and lovely colors.  This painting was painted just after we returned from Charlevoix, Michigan.  It's a reminder just how beautiful Up North is.  Contact Kay with any questions or comments.  Thanks, KMW

Meet Me At The Dock by Kay Wyne

Meet Me At The Dock
40" x 30" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
I just varnished this painting at the studio yesterday, and now this painting is ready for a new home.  It will be in an upcoming exhibit in Ft. Worth.  When I look at this painting, it immediately takes me back to our summer in Charlevoix.  The Michigan colors of the water and sky are unlike any other.  Contact Kay for more information on this painting or any of the other pieces posted here on this blog.  Thanks for looking, Kay

Launch Into The Blue - Sold

Launch Into The Blue
20" x 24" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Commission
Contemporary Seascape Painting
It's another boat painting for a Northern Michigan boater and collector of art---capturing the waves and excitement of being a part of the Boyne Thunder Race in July.  This beautiful boat is making it's way through the channel in Charlevoix, Michigan out into Lake Michigan.  I wanted to capture the colorful crowd, the neat lighthouse and the captain of boat - Jim - on canvas.  This painting is drying in the studio, and will be varnished before it is shipped Up North!  Painting this image really made me anxious for summertime and the Michigan beach.  Thanks for looking at this blog...If you would like to talk to me about a commissioned painting, contact ME.  Thanks, Kay

Beach Time

Beach Time
9" x 12" Oil on Canvas
NSF - A Christmas gift for my in-laws.
I sent this painting to Ruth and Louie for a Christmas gift. It was a fun painting because of the shadows and the subject matter. My inspiration was a 1990's photograph and alot of memories from our summers in Charlevoix, Michigan. The beach at Sequanota Club was our afternoon hang-out. As my daugher pointed out, it was good that I put a few details in this painting...like the tennis shoes and laces, the bouys in the water, and Ruth's visor. I can feel the sun and sand when I look at this painting. I hope to go to the studio today and ring out the year painting. Happy New Year to all, and have a safe holiday!!!
