A big sky, fast moving clouds and whips wheat fields in a warm summer day. That's what I was imagining when I painted this contemporary landscape. The layers of paint are thick, and the brushstrokes can be seen up close. This painting is available for purchase. Contact Kay for more info. Thanks for looking at this blog! KMW
Big fluffy clouds moving across the wide open sky, and a colorful field of wheat make this painting a very pleasant one to view. The eye moves across the field, back to the horizon line and then up to cloud formations. You get a sense of the depth of the field, and the big sky. This painting is finished, with the sides of the gallery wrap canvas painted. Framing is optional, but "Wheat Fields" is ready for a new home. Contact Kay for more information. Thanks for looking...have an artful day. KMW
Clouds are so much fun to to paint, and there are so many possibilities...they change quickly in nature, and they can change just as quickly when you are painting them. These are fast moving, fluffy clouds with lots of color in the them. This landscape painting is available for purchase. Contact the Kay Wyne for more information on this painting. Thanks, Kay
Finished! This painting is drying on my easel. The soft, fluffy clouds give this painting a happy feeling, while the calm blue water wanders across the canvas. I used a brushes and palette knives on this landscape. There are hints of flowers popping up, along with tall grass, and a hidden path leading to the water. Contact Kay Wyne for more information on this contemporary landscape. Thanks for looking at my blog! Kay
The dramatic clouds of the South Carolina beach was my main focus on this painting...and the reflections of the clouds in the water. This painting is drying in the studio. Contact Kay for more information. KMW
Untitled 30" x 30" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Landscape
Just off the easel, this colorful landscape painting is finished! It is drying, and needs a title. I thoroughly enjoyed the painting process on this canvas. I went into the studio, picked up a canvas and just started painting. I was able to paint it from start to finish in one session, without interruptions. The clouds have thick painterly brushstrokes, and are moving across the big sky. In contrast to the airy clouds, the tall grass in the foreground has variation in color and brush strokes. I did not use any mediums or impasto, so it will take a while to dry. Thanks for looking at this painting....hopefully I will come up with a title for it soon. Contact Kay with any questions or comments. Kay Wyne
This is a very peaceful painting....it is makes you feel good just to look at it. "Wide Open Sky" is sold. I need to comb through my photographs and paint some more landscapes with big skies and clouds. Heading to the studio today...maybe a landscape will be on my easel! Thanks for looking at this blog. Have an artful day! Kay
Contemporary Landscape Painting Frame is optional.
Inspired by the beautiful turquoise skies of New Mexico, this painting has beautiful billowy clouds moving across the canvas. The clouds are full of lavender, pink, coral, lemon, and grey. I like to sit and watch the clouds move across the sky---and pareidolia takes over, as I see random images and patterns. Looking at my reference photographs is always fun when I can capture something new and different with the camera. I wanted to capture the fast moving clouds on canvas in this painting. Thanks for looking at my art....Kay
I just finished this painting yesterday in the studio...I was inspired to paint a very simple and peaceful landscape, which is a change-up from my normal palette knife/landscape paintings. I like layering paint to get puffy clouds that are moving across the big sky. This painting is drying at the studio! Be sure to check out all of the neat paintings in the 30/30 Paint Challenge. Thanks for viewing...EMAIL ME with any comments or questions.....thanks, Kay
