Using my palette knife, lots of paint and impasto, I applied layers of paint on this canvas and painted very fast.  I used some left-over paint from another painting that was going to dry up.  So I scraped, pulled and pushed the paint to create "Lush".  Contact Kay Wyne for more information.  Thanks, KMW

This is one of my favorite palette knife paintings...because

it went through so many changes to get to this finished stage. 

It started out as a 18" x 18" canvas, and had two grazing cows

in the foreground.  I didn't like the composition, so I took the 

canvas off the stretcher bars and cropped it down.  Framed up

in a dark plein air frame, it is hanging in our home.

My color palette with just about every color in the book....lots of violets, reds, greens, ochres, turquoise, raspberry ....it is all in there.  I can imagine standing in a large open field with the wind blowing, and seeing so many colors, with them fading off into the horizon.  Every blade of tall grass is a different  in color, giving this painting a fresh contemporary feel.  I would hope that the viewer would look at this painting and be able to feel the wind whipping around.  This painting is ready to hang...with or without a frame.   Contact Kay for more info on this painting.  Kay
