After changing directions on this painting by the urging of one of my collectors, I painted my first golf course.  I couldn't leave it with just greens...had to add some floral colors along the way. Timeless is one of my favorite paintings...I liked it so much that I had it printed on my business cards.  The colors were mixed and mixed, and are very harmonious.  There is plenty of texture on the canvas...you can see the palette knife work, almost like frosting on a cake.  Let me know if you have any comments or questions concerning my art...I would love for Timeless to have a new home!  Kay

Contemporary Landscape Painting

A big sky with fast moving clouds and a colorful wheat field is my subject matter for this canvas.  Using a wide flat brush I built up the paint on the clouds, giving them some shape and movement.  The tall grass has reflections of the sky painted in it.  It is ready to hang, as the sides of the canvas are painted and framing is optional.  Contact Kay for more info.  Thanks for looking...KMW

I was asked by a collector to paint a unique location that he is very fond of.  While on a recent fly fishing trip with a friend, this was a sign that he drove by multiple times, looking for a good fishing spot.  It's close to Bluff City, Tennessee on Old Weaver Pike Road.  I can't say that I have been there, but I wanted to paint the feeling of the countryside, as if the viewer is standing in front of the sign.   

Using a small photo as my reference, I wanted to get everything in the painting...including the tractor tire, the barn, the truck, the rusty old farm equipment, the saint on the fence post, and of course the imperfect and hand-made sign.

This painting has been shipped to Chicago and will be framed up before it finds it's new home.  This is a "one and only" painting - I doubt that I will ever be requested to paint something like this again.  It was fun and challenging, and I am thrilled that "Your Cows Are Out" has a new home!  Thanks for looking at my blog, Kay.

"I Can See Forever" is dry, varnished and hanging at the studio.  Using a big filbert brush to paint with, you can see the thick paint and brush marks on the canvas.  I purposely left some of the tinted canvas peaking through in the sky and clouds.  The magentas, reds, ochres in the foreground fade as they go back into the horizon.  I want the viewer to look at this painting and have a good feeling when looking at the open landscape with the big puffy clouds passing by.  Contact Kay for more info.  Thanks for looking at my blog.  Kay
