Visiting Santa Fe...

Kyle and Stacy Haubold were traveling across the country to California, stopped in Santa Fe to explore the city.  Here is Stacy in front of one of my large contemporary aspen paintings.

Kyle along Canyon Road...one of my favorite places!

I was thrilled that the Haubolds went to Santa Fe and took in the galleries as they traveled to their new home.  I wish them well on their new adventure in California!  I hope to be in the studio today painting away!  Thanks for looking...Kay

I am starting to look for some new reference material for roosters and chickens...I think I will visit some of my neighbor's chicken coops for that.  It is amazing how many Dallasites have chickens and hens (no roosters, agains the rules) in their backyards.  And it is also amazing how many eggs we get from our chicken friends.  Thanks for looking at this blog and the art posted.  Have a good day, and remember the time change!  Kay

On my easel...

This is a work in progress...it is a 48" x 48" canvas.  I worked on it for a week, then got side-tracked.  I am getting to work on a collaborative commission, so I will come back to this painting in a few weeks.  I really like painting on a large canvas because I use really big brushes and can make swooping strokes across the surface of the canvas.  I hope to get into the studio today and work on some problem areas of this painting.  Thanks for viewing...Kay
