Shea Baby - Sold

Shea Baby
30" x 24" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Loose and bold brush strokes give this pet portrait a larger than life look.  Always wanting to play, loyal and a good friend, Shea deserved her own portrait.  I probably need to paint some new critters on canvas.  Even though this painting is sold, I like to look at it.  Pet commission are available...contact Kay Wyne for more info.  Have a great day!  KMW

Shea Baby by Kay Wyne

Shea Baby
30" x 24" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Labs are great dogs, and I wanted to catch Shea's personality on canvas.  She was full of energy, and always ready to play catch with a tennis ball.  The brushstrokes are bold, colorful and wide.  I wanted to capture the spirit of her personality on canvas.  When I see this painting hanging, it makes me smile and reminds me of all the labs we have had in our family.  Shea is available for sale...contact Kay Wyne for more information on this painting.  Thanks, KMW

Shea Baby by Kay Wyne

Shea Baby
30" x 24" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Oil Painting
This is one of my all-time favorite paintings that I have created....of Shea, the family dog....our yellow Lab.  I like the wide and loose brushstrokes, the color palette, and of course the subject matter.  She is larger than life, and in your face with her tennis ball.   I wanted to capture her personality and energy on the canvas.  Shea Baby isn't with us anymore, but when I look at this canvas it reminds me what a great family pet she was.  Contact ME for more info on my paintings.  Thanks for looking....Kay

Shea Baby

Shea Baby
30" x 24" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Dog Painting
Labs are great dogs, and we have had three of them in the past 32 years.  Two blacks, and then Shea who was a beautiful yellow labrador.  This is a rather large canvas, and I used wide, swooping brushstrokes to give the impression of movement.  She was always on the move, and loved her tennis ball. I wanted to capture her personality on canvas.  Thanks for looking at this blog.....Kay

I did paint this a while back...but in the studio yesterday, I started
a large canvas and here is the start:
My inspiration was from a day at the Dallas Zoo with John as I found the carousel to be so fun and interesting.
The canvas is 30" x 30"....I am really jazzed about this painting!
And then I took a break and had a lunch break with Hank.
What a neat dog.
Hank Henry.
So a day of painting, a lunch hour with the cutest puppie.

Hank - NFS

Hank
4" x 4" Oil on RayMar Cotton Panel
NFS
Hank is the newest and cutest member of the Henry family...He was a surprise Christmas gift from our son in-law Wes to our daughter, Lindsay.  He is all puppy.  I couldn't wait to get into the studio and do a simple, painterly portrait of him.  His coat has a deep orangey glow to it.  So today is Day 3 in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.  I will give this little painting to Lindsay and Wes when it dries...of course there will be more paintings of this Yellow Lab.  Thanks for looking at this blog...have an artful day.  Kay

Shea Baby

Shea Baby
24" x 30" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Oil Painting
This is a painting that I have always liked since it is one of the three labs we have had in our family.  We are without any pets right now...this painting is a reminder of how Shea was always retrieving a tennis ball and wanting to play, play, play.  Wide brushstrokes and bold colors make this painting one of my favorites.  Thanks for viewing....kay@kwyne.com.  KMW

Maggie

Maggie
8" x 8" Oil on RayMar panel
This was a small demo that I did a few weeks ago, I wanted to touch it up in the studio, but decided not to.  I knew that if I got the brushes out and started working on a couple of things that I would end up over-painting or simply repainting the whole doggie.  So, it is complete!  Have a great day.  I hope to be in the studio later today painting on a large canvas just for the fun of it...Kay at kay@kwyne.com

Shea Baby

This painting just came down from the TVAA show at Plaza of the Americas in downtown Dallas. Shea is our thirteen year old yellow Lab. Lately she has gotten very sassy and rules at our house. She has always had alot of life, and I wanted to convey that "spark" that she has on the canvas. This canvas has wide brushstrokes, and is a very bold painting. Shea has also had her portrait painted by Suzy Moritz. I would say that Shea is very special...not very many dogs can say that they have had their portraits painted by two artists! Suzy paints alot of dogs, and does commissions. You might check her website out...she also paints at Studio Art and Soul in The Cedars, located south of downtown Dallas. Actually, once you are on the Studio Art and Soul website, check out all of the Dallas artists there...it is a great group---eleven creative artists who love to paint!
