Contemporary Palette Knife Painting

Using palette knives and clay shaping tools, I layered and scraped and move the paint around until I was satisfied with this cactus patch.  The paint is layered and there is texture on the canvas.  This painting is drying in the studio.  Contact Kay for more info  Thanks, KMW

There's something beautiful about a wilted, lonely sunflower needing some attention.  I used my palette knife and brush to give the viewer my impression of the potted plant.  Thanks for looking....Kay

Plein Air/White Rock Lake, Dallas

January in Dallas can be very warm or brutally cold.  Yesterday John and I went to White Rock Lake...the sun was out, but it was windy and very chilly.  The weather conditions forced me to paint fast.  I wanted to nail the colors to get a feel for the day.  The brush and scrubby trees were right in front of my set-up (see photo below).
