Out On A Limb

Out On A Limb
12" x 36" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Song Birds
This long, horizontal format was perfect for these colorful songbirds.  They are all busy out on a limb, looking, chirping, and sitting pretty.  This painting is for sale, and would look great in a den, bedroom or office.  Contact Kay for more info.  Thanks for looking, Kay

Wildflower Summer

Wildflower Summer
8" x 8" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Wildflower Landscape Series
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting
This painting is so wet with juicy oils...I started with
my flat brush, but could not wait to get the palette knives
out to move the paint around.  I am happy with the colors,
the composition and look of this little painting.  I borrowed
some beautiful colors that she had mixed on her palette,
and they were going to dry up if I didn't dive into them.

Wandering Through

Wandering Through
48" x 60" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting
This painting is drying at the studio...a contemporary floral landscape bursting with color and texture.  I have been working on this canvas for days...with layers and layers of paint.  The scene is a wide view of wildflowers wandering through the landscape.  The sky is heavy with paint and texture.  Because this painting is on thick stretcher bars/gallery wrap canvas, framing is optional.  This is a great size canvas to hang above a sofa or fireplace.  Contact Kay for more information on this painting.  Thanks for looking at this blog.  Kay

Catch Me If You Can

Catch Me If You Can
24" x 24" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting
This is a painting that I started while taking a Laurie Pace Workshop this summer at the Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas.  I finished it in the studio, and it is drying.  My reference photograph was from my recent visit to Colorado, and this is one of many elk that I saw.  Contact me for more information on this painting.  Thanks for viewing!  Kay

Still on my easel....

This painting is not completed, but I wanted to look at it on the computer.  It is a change from my normal color palette, so I thought that I would take a few days to make some adjustments on the color and add more paint.  I am happy with the background, even though I do not like to put green in my paintings.  Thanks for viewing this blog...Kay

Brown Bear

Brown Bear
4" x 4" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
$75 + shipping
This contemporary painting is signed on the side of canvas.
This little painting was fun, and I was inspired to paint a bear after our trip to Jackson Hole, WY.  We did see a black bear in Grand Teton National Park.  We had just entered the park, and came across several...maybe a dozen or so...cars parked along the winding road.  It was a bear jam!  We had heard about these bear jams clogging up the traffic flow in the parks.  The wildlife in Yellowstone and Teton National Parks was amazing.  I need to start a wildlife painting series based on the beautiful bears, moose, elk and bison that we encountered on our trip.  Thanks for viewing this blog!  kay@kwyne.com
