This canvas is drying in the studio, as I finished it off with some fresh colorful oil bars.  I had good time painting this abstract, and getting back into the groove of painting---it's hard to be away from the studio and lose your creative painting mode.  I am hoping to get some momentum going.  I focused on the lines and colors in "P.S. I loved painting these peonies.  They were big and full, loose and colorful.  The background, apples and ceramic pitcher were more challenging than the flowers.  I was using a some new paints...Classic Oils, which I found to be very juicy and I liked the way I could move the paint around on the canvas.  It wasn't thick and gummy, it had the consistency of sour cream.  Concentrating on the shadows and the reflections, I was painting this still life in the Sahli Studio in Evergreen, Colorado.  Don is a wonderful artist and had some interesting set-ups in the studio.  Contact Kay for purchasing info.  This painting is framed in a dark moulding with gold lip.  Thanks for looking....Kay

I can honestly say that this painting was painted from the heart.  It wasn't hard to paint.  It didn't take long.  It just came out of me.  And it makes me smile,  just as our family news on Sunday.  I wanted to paint something beautiful and lasting....so I went through my reference photos decided on a still life, and picked out a limited color palette of grays, greens and violets.  And just let it go.  The paint is applied with the knife and is really thick and textured.  This painting is drying at the studio.  Contact Kay Wyne for information on this painting.  Thanks for looking at this blog.

Happy Mother's Day to my Mom! I'll pretend that this is real vase of flowers and that I am giving them to her today, even though she is in Illinois and I am in Texas. I do get to have a special day because ALL of my kiddos are here....Blake, Lindsay & Wes!!! I am not sure what our day will bring and what our plans are, but getting to see everyone is great.
