Sundown

Sundown
36" x 24" Oil on Gallery Wrap Linen
Contemporary Floral Landscape
This painting has vibrant colors, along with
palette knife texture.  The texture in the nubby
linen gives the painting surface texture also.
The hot sunset is the focal point while the
lavender fields fade into the horizon.

Thanks, KMW

Sunday Afternoon

Sunday Afternoon
12" x 12" Oil on Canvas
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting
I was playing around with the palette knife, putting layer after layer on the canvas.  I may need to put a few details on the flowers, but need to let it dry.  The paints were applied with the palette knife, so it will take a while to dry.  Thanks for looking at this blog....Kay

Landscape

This landscape painting is SOLD! It is a 12" x 12" oil on masonite, in a gold frame. The colorful field of flowers has just about any color. I wanted the eye to move around and find some interest in the field. Thanks so much for viewing this blog. Kay

Elsie by Kay Wyne

Elsie
16" x 20" Oil on canvas
Framed, currently hanging at Dutch Art Gallery, Dallas, Texas
I pulled this photo of a painting I did.... to look at Elsie's eyes. Wide brush strokes and splashes of color hit Elsie in this contemporary oil painting. My brushes were not kind to me today....I have three paintings on the easel, and at the end of the afternoon, picked up my palette knife and started spreading the paint. Hopefully tomorrow will be more successful in the studio. Please contact me if you interested in purchasing this painting.

Horizon Series: Abstract 11

Today's abstract is on a 8" x 8" masonite panel. Another framed piece. Yesterday was a good day in the studio. I finished three paintings that had been sitting on the easel for a long time. I completed the Santa Monica beach scene, my latest sheep, and a cow. I hope to get some good pictures of them to post soon.
