As I continue to stay at home and studio during this pandemic, I continue to paint on a daily basis.  It's a happy habit I have.  Yesterday I was in the studio by myself with these sunflowers.  I was using thick piles of oil, layers and layers of transparent, and found myself lost in the heavy golden petals flopping all over the canvas.  These bold sunflowers are drying in the studio.  Contact Kay for more info.  Thanks for looking at my art.  Kay

Contemporary Still Life

I started with a photograph that I took last year in Greece of a food market, and zoomed in on a crate of lemons.  It was a sunny day, and the golden yellows were brilliant as I looked at the lemon harvest.  I had a good time at the easel painting this one, and I was thinking about starting a new series...I would have a good time going to the Dallas Farmers Market (if I practiced social distancing, of course) and picking out some fresh fruits or veggies to paint.   This painting is finished, and drying in the studio.  Thanks for looking at my blog.  Kay

Contemporary Palette Knife Painting

This is a very dramatic landscape that has just about every color that was on my palette.  It's bold, and will look great once it is varnished and framed up.  I used two tools to paint this one...a Kemper wipe-out tool, and a #27 Palette Knife. Contemporary Abstract

There's a lot of movement on this panel.  Lots of color too.  I see several crossroads in the landscape, with some twists and turns along the way.  I used bold colors, a palette knife and a wipe-out tool.  Loads of thick oils on this one.  It is drying in the studio.  Thanks for looking at my blog....Kay
