Big Guy by Kay Wyne

Big Guy
30" x 30" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting
Big Guy was excepted into The Discovery Exhibit at the Milan Gallery in Ft. Worth, Texas and is hanging in the gallery now.  If you are in the Ft. Worth area, please stop by to see the show.  This contemporary palette knife painting is available for purchase.  I have painted many roosters and chickens over the years, and this one is one of my favorites because I used a palette knife, and the painting process was so much fun.  Thanks for looking at my blog...have a great day.  KMW

Georgie Boy - Sold

Georgie Boy
Sold
12" x 12" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
This painting, "Georgie Boy" was the product of a painting demonstration for a group of women at the Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas.  George is the mascot at our local Gecko Hardware Store.  George came to the gallery and modeled for me, took a look around the gallery and entertained us all.  Here is a pic of the painting demonstration.
In this photo George is taking a gander at one of my chicken & rooster paintings that is on display at Dutch Art Gallery.
George found a Kay Wyne rooster painting to critique...
Looking at these rooster paintings gives me reason to go visit George and paint a new Georgie painting.  Thanks for looking at my art.  Contact ME for more information on my art.  Thanks, Kay

Sunshine

Sunshine
10" x 10" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Rooster Series
This small rooster is dry now and ready for a new home.  I think Sunshine would look great on a kitchen wall or sitting on a countertop.  I painted this colorful rooster so that he is nestled in the grass, and pops with the contrasting black background.  I used a wide flat bright brush all the way on this fine feathered friend...you can see the spontaneous strokes in the grass and the feathers.  Contact Kay for more info on Sunshine.  Thanks for looking at this blog.  Kay

Most everyone in Lake Highlands know George, the beautiful rooster at the local hardware store.  This painting of George was a painting demonstration at Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas.  George modeled in the gallery and then got tired of it all, so I had to work quickly.  This painting is hanging at the gallery...contact owner Pam Massar for more info.  Thanks for looking at this blog.  Kay

The Balancing Act

The Balancing Act
8" x 8" Oil on RayMar Cotton Panel
Day #16 of the 30-30 Challenge:
visit Slices of Life by Leslie Saeta blog.
This little hen is doing a balancing act on a fence.  My goal for this painting was to keep it clean and make every stroke count and to pay attention to my values.  I did not want any mud.  I used Gamblin Portland Greys.....they are really nice.  I didn't allow myself to go back into the painting and get fussy with my brushwork.  Yesterday was not the best day in the studio....I completed a 20" x 20" painting, but I was not happy with it, so I took off and went shopping for a change of pace.  Thanks for looking at this blog and the art here.....Kay at kay@kwyne.com.

The Shy One

The Shy One
Contemporary Oil Painting
8" x 8" on RayMar Cotton Panel
This rooster is the entry for day 9 on the 30-30 Challenge...be sure to go to Slices of Life by Leslie Saeta to see all of the art posted.  Yesterday in the studio was wonderful.  I had started this painting, and decided that I would treat myself to a large canvas when I completed this painting.  So I got my brights out and worked on this painting....clean lines, and not a lot of detail.  This rooster is a shy one, usually quiet and avoids confrontation.  Needing to change things up after day 9, the painting I am currently working on is different is many ways...so I can't wait to get back into the studio and put in a full day of painting.  Thanks for viewing..kay@kwyne.com.  Happy Painting!  KMW
