I was so excited to buy some new brushes, and this small floral was painted with one of them. It was small Princeton Dakota/Flat brush. I loaded the brush with lots of paint...and made every stroke count on this small panel. It was fun playing and experimenting with a brush that I normally don't use. These peonies are drying in the studio...contact Kay for more info on this small floral. Thank you! KMW
Extravagant Ways Oil and Oil Stick on 40" x 40" Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Abstract Floral
I love painting on large square canvases. Extravagant Ways is a mixed media piece because I used charcoal, oils, and oil bars. Using the willow charcoal stick, I scraped into the layered oil when it was wet. I enjoyed experimenting with different color combos as I worked my way through the painting. The asymmetrical design and irregular shapes gives the imagination a chance to go to work. Contact Kay for more info on this original painting. Thanks for looking! KMW

One of my collectors has purchased this painting because it makes her happy. Painting makes me happy, and it delights me that my art can hang on a wall and make someone else happy! I can't wait to see this painting framed up and in it's new home. Thanks for looking, KMW
I went into the studio and made some adjustments on this canvas, and I can say that it is finished. Colorful, vibrant and busy, this happy painting is now drying. I am getting ready to start a new paint challenge for 2022. Happy New Year! Kay
This small panel was created in the studio as I continue to explore painting on gold, silver and copper leafing. I wanted to focus on lavenders and greens on the silver background. Contact Kay for more information. Thanks for looking...KMW
I love painting abstracts. On this canvas, my objective was to experiment with color and abstract my paintings in a simple but pleasing composition. Textiles, ceramics, fruit, flowers, and vegetables are my subject matter. Contact Kay with any questions or comments. Thanks for looking at my art! KMW
This canvas is drying in the studio, and needs a coat of varnish, along with a frame to finish it off. The colors bounce off of the gold leaf that I applied on the canvas after an undercoat of black. I like the way the eye moves around the canvas, going from petal to petal. My hope is to frame this up and hang in my house until somebody decides that they want to give "Golden Blooms" a forever home! Thanks for looking at my blog....contact me with any questions. Have an artful day.....KMW
Shapes of color and lines of charcoal give this panel a loose and carefree feeling. I was playing around with color and started to draw on top of the paint. This panel is drying in the studio. Contact Kay for more info. Thanks for looking at my blog! KMW
