Persuasion - Diptych

Persuasion II
24" x 48" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting
Here are the two canvases together:
Persuasion I and Persuasion II
Diptych 48" x 48" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Using a palette knife to apply the layers of oil paints, this abstract was created with color and movement in mind.  The shapes of color overlap each other, and the oils blended into each other.  Greys, violets, magenta, pinks, corals, greens, and tangerine are the colors in this contemporary abstract.  The colors float across the canvas.  The paintings can be hung separately, or as a diptych.  Contact Kay Wyne or Dutch Art Gallery for purchasing information.  Thanks, KMW

Persuasion by Kay Wyne

Persuasion
Diptych
48" x 48" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting
Each canvas is 24" x 48", but hang them side by side and you have a large square.  This palette knife painting has layers of beautiful colors and movement.  Punches of tangerine and turquoise against the greys, lavenders, pinks and blues make this abstract interesting.  Contact Kay Wyne for more information on this contemporary palette knife painting.  It is available for purchase.  Thanks, Kay

Persuasion by Kay Wyne

Persuasion
Diptych - Each canvas is 48" x 24" --- Total size:  48" x 48"
These two canvases hang together to make a neat size, 48" x 48", or each canvas can stand alone.  The greys, blues and violets move around the canvas, intertwining with the corals, greens and turquoises.  I used a wide brush and palette knife on this diptych.  Contact Kay Wyne for more information on this contemporary abstract or any of my art.  Thanks, KMW

On My Easel....by Kay Wyne

Sitting on my easel...
I started this diptych yesterday.  It's a new canvas size for me, each canvas is 48" x 24", so it's as if I am painting on a 48" x 48" canvas.  I started with a couple of layers of acrylic light grey/blue to cover-up the white canvas.   Using charcoal, I sketched in my horizon line and some large shapes.  Then I looked at my palette of oils and started using up what was leftover from the last painting, and added a few piles of color.  I did not get to work on the upper third of the canvas, but will start on that first thing today.  I plan on going very abstract with it.  Thanks for looking at this blog....Kay Wyne

On My Easel...

At the studio on my easel...
Palette Knife Painting
I have two 40" x 30" gallery wrap canvases that I am working on right now.  I am in the process of trying to figure out my next move.  I might get the oil bars out.  For starters I covered the canvas with a grey/blue acrylic paint.  As I was finishing up another painting, I started this with the left-over paints.  I used a large palette knife to apply and move the paint around.  More on this colorful diptych in a couple of days.  Kay

I finished this painting...it does have a companion to it, and looks great hanging as a diptych.  The colors flow from one to another, the magentas, roses, oranges, greens, grey and violets.  I will post Absolutely II tomorrow...the two canvases can be hung together, or stand alone.  Thanks for looking at my blog.  Kay

Abstract II by Kay Wyne

Abstract II (Untitled)
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting
40" x 30" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
This is the companion piece that hangs next to yesterday's painting that I posted.  Below is a picture of the two canvases on my easel.  Hanging as a diptych would make the painting approximately 40" x 60"...and would look great in a home or office setting.  The sides need to have a second coat of light grey paint, and I may put a few touches on it.
Today is Day #4 in the 30/30 Day Paint Challenge.  I have several abstracts and florals on my easel...I can't wait to get back into the studio after the holidays and the crazy schedules.  Thanks for looking at my art on this  blog....contact Kay Wyne for purchasing info.  KMW

A Day For Two - Diptych by Kay Wyne

A Day For Two
Contemporary Aspen Palette Knife Painting
This diptych measures 36" x 18" and is painted on gallery wrap canvases. Usually when you hang a diptych space is left between the two canvases...it is totally up to the collector how to display the art. This painting is for sale, and is at Adieb Khadoure Fine Art Gallery in Santa Fe, NM. Thanks for viewing this blog and my art....Kay at kay@kwyne.com

Aspens Diptych

Contemporary Aspens Diptych
48" x 60" (Two 48" x 30" canvases)
Oil Palette Knife Painting
I finished this painting...signed it and put the fan on it since it is very wet.
This is the first time that I have painted on Heavy Duty Canvas...I liked it alot.
I moved the wet canvas outside to photograph,
so the dark brown line inbetween the paintings is the outside of the studio.
I put a zig-zag dark path in the background so that the eye moves around the canvas.
Thanks for viewing this blog...
(p.s. I am not sure what the title of this should be....any suggestions are welcome!)
