18" x 36" x 2 1/2" Heavy Duty Canvas

This painting ready to hang....and it doesn't need a frame with the thick, chunky look of the gallery wrap canvas. This palette knife painting needs a new home....please contact Kay if you are interested in this painting. Thanks for viewing this blog, and have a great Monday. No Boundaries

20" x 60" Oil on Linen Gallery Wrap

I love the linen showing through on this contemporary aspen painting. When I started painting, I wanted the viewer to be able to see the linen. The natural linen is warm and rich in color. I used a wide, flat brush and the palette knife to apply the oils. The 80" high canvas would look great on a vertical space with a high ceiling...it is ready to ship to the gallery in Santa Fe. Horizon Series: Winter Aspens

Horizon Series: Winter Aspens

24" x 30" Oil

Gallery Wrap Canvas

This palette knife painting is an drying at the studio. I purposely picked earthy, neutrals for the palette.(A different direction than the bright, bold palette that I normally use.) The colors are mixed, layered and applied with a palette knife. By the way, I just got two new large knifes...they look like weapons! I have five new palette paintings sitting on the easels...so more to come! Thanks for viewing this blog and my art. Have a good Monday....Kay

Falling For You

Falling For You

48" x 48" Oil on Heavy Duty Gallery Wrap Canvas

Palette Knife Painting

This painting is completed. I brought it home from the gallery to hang in our den until it dries. Lately our den has been host to wet paintings. It changes things up for sure. Today is Easter. I hope that you have a wonderful day, and spend it with family and friends. Thanks for viewing this blog and the art posted. Kay

Off the easel....

This palette knife painting is straight off the easel. It is very wet, so I brought it home from the studio and it is now hanging in our den. It is colorful, full of texture and looks great above our leather sofa....the wall it is hanging on is white, with a leather sofa below. I like the injection of color on that wall...gives the room life. I have not named this piece yet. I have another aspen painting sitting in front of a fan drying at the studio. Thanks for viewing this blog, and have an artful day.

Aspens

Aspens

12" x 24" canvas

Very wet since I used the palette knife on the canvas.

I just took this painting to the Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, TX.

I know Pam will frame it up and hang for the upcoming exhibit.

I finished two commissions yesterday, delivered them, and came home from the studio to work on things for the upcoming wedding. We are getting down to the wire on Lindsay & Wes' wedding....so I will be taking a break from my easel. Thanks for viewing this blog!!! Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing this painting or any of my pieces posted on my website or blog. Have a great day!

Palette Knife Painting

12" x 12" Oil Painting on Gessoed Masonite

Yesterday I was at the studio bright and early. I had several paintings going...and I finished this palette knife painting. I really layered the paint on this one...lots of texture. Lots of color. It will take months to dry, but I did sign it, and can't wait to see if framed up in a gold frame. Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing this painting, or any of my art. Thanks so much for viewing this blog!
