Nest of Five - SOLD!

Nest of Five
This painting has a new home...in Waco, Texas. I had been asked to paint a nest painting with five eggs for a collector. It was a real joy to paint this painting for her family's new home. I told the new owner that I had not named the painting, so Nest of Five is temporary, until the right title hits me. This is a 14" x 18" gallery wrap canvas, which can be framed at a later date. It will take months for the oils to cure, but in the mean time, this nest will be hanging on new walls! Thanks so much for looking at my art and this blog. Kay

Nest Series: Three Eggs

Today's painting is one of several that I completed and framed yesterday at the studio. It is painted on a 9" x 12" canvas. The three eggs are nestled in this nest that is off-center on the canvas. I hope to continue to finish up all the paintings that need work. I have three shows to get ready for this fall. If you are interested in this painting, please contact me. Have a good Tuesday. I hope to be in the studio most of the day.

Nest Series: Two Eggs

I just finished up several paintings in the studio today....this one is part of the Nest Series....Two Eggs. It is oil on masonite, framed up in a gold plein air frame. It is 12" x 12". Looks good framed up. If you are interested in this painting please contact me. I will probably be putting this painting in the Dutch Art Gallery Show in October. I have a series of nest paintings going...more to come!

Quick Study Nest

Today's posting is a small 12" x 12" painting on masonite panel. I have decided that the masonite has a smooth, almost too slick surface for painting, and that I like canvas much better. It is easier to get some details on canvas. But, I will probably paint on masonite again. This is one of my nest paintings. I like the turquoise and soft baby blue in the eggs. I purposely painted this very fast and loose. I started a new landscape yesterday in the studio, and moved my stuff around in the studio because there was a leak in the roof. It rained in Dallas last night, so I am glad that my paintings, easel and supplies were moved. I hope to go to the studio early today...

Eleven Eggs

Here is a painting that was inspired by a wonderful nest full of eggs. The colors are not realistic, but vibrant and fun, and I thought they were great for the nest. Currently, it is hanging in the Texas Visual Arts Association Gallery in The Plaza of the Americas in downtown Dallas. Although I hope to post all of my small works of art here on the blog, I am posting this one today.
