Pretty In Pink - Sold!

Pretty In Pink
SOLD
12" x 12" Oil on RayMar Cotton Panel
Contemporary Still Life
Thank you to Pam Massar at Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas for giving this still life a forever home.  It was custom framed and now a companion to one of my other florals in a new home!  I remember painting this one, and experimenting with a new color---it was Carribean Blue by Old Holland.  I always have that color out on my palette.  (It's the background color.)  Thanks for looking at my blog...Kay

Cotton Candy

Cotton Candy
40" x 40" Oil, Oil Bar and Charcoal on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Abstract
This large canvas went through a lot of changes to get where it is today.  It is completed, after going through many changes.  Layers of drawings, brushwork and scraping finally got me to the place where I felt like this abstract was finished. It's dry in the studio, with the sides of the canvas painted a dark vulcan grey.  (Framing is optional....it's wired, and ready to hang!)  The spice of turquoise offsets the muted pinks, whites and greys.  When you look up close you can see drawings in charcoal that come and go.  I named this abstract Cotton Candy because it of the shades of pink...and it was so much fun to create!  Thanks for looking at my blog..Kay

Tickled Pink

Tickled Pink
18" x 24" Oil on Gallery Wrap
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting
Contact Kay for more info on this painting.
Tickled Pink is a palette knife painting that has very thick players of paint on the canvas. I loved mixing the piles of gooey oils in orange, pink, lavender and corals for this contemporary palette knife painting.  I had painted a similar painting several months ago, but it was lacking in depth, so this is my answer to that issue!!!  This is a close-up shot of the painting so that you can see the body and thick build-up of the oils.
Thanks for looking at my art....I hope we are finished with the snow and ice...more painting in the studio tomorrow.  Have an artful day!  Kay

Small and Simple

Small and Simple
8" x 8" Oil on RayMar Cotton Panel
Contemporary Still Life Painting
I was playing around with large piles of paint on my palette, and put very few brushstrokes on this one. I wanted a clean, simple painting.  And very abstract.  I did not go back into the oils after I put the paint on.  It was a fun little painting, small and simple.  Today is Day #19 in the 30/30 Paint Challenge with Leslie Saeta.  Contact Kay to purchase.  Thanks, Kay
