Hideaway - By Kay Wyne

Hideaway
36" x 36" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Nest Series

I have been working on a commission (not due until Christmas time, 2017) so I can't photograph and show that work, as it is a gift from my client to a relative.  I have five canvases that are almost completed on my easels.  When I say almost, I think they are, but not quiet sure. So I will let them sit in the studio to dry and think about it for a while.....We have some new opportunities in the studio, and can't wait to share them with you.  Thanks for looking at Hideaway...it is for sale, so feel free to contact Kay Wyne.

Empty Nest Waiting

Empty Nest Waiting
8" x 16" Oil on Canvas
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting
Empty Nest Waiting is framed up and hanging at Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas.  I used a wide brush and my palette knife to create this contemporary nest painting. You can see the wide brushstrokes in the background...I didn't get fussy with it.  I painted it, and left the paint so that the brush strokes were visible.  The sticks and twigs of the nest are thick and textured.  Thanks for looking at this blog.....Kay

This and that on my easel....

This cow was standing in green grass yesterday. I don't care for green paint so I painted it all out....and going for the yellow ocher in the field. My reference photograph was taken in the winter, so I am changing everything up. More tomorrow...
This is a page out of Sharon Hodge's Moleskine for my April (yes, I started it the last day of April). The finished painting was an odd size...6" x 21". I could paint anything, and so I painted one of my favorite things....a nest. Thanks for viewing my blog and the art on my easel. I have some other things going....hope to put the final touches on those paintings. Kay
