I was able to spend a lot of time in the studio this weekend. Here is a quick 6” x 8” oil painting on cotton panel. At first try, it was a wiper. Then on second try, it was fun, and it was a keeper. I was able to get the vivid, intense colors that were in the floral arrangement. I used a photograph as my reference for color and shapes….my daughter, Lindsay was given then most beautiful floral arrangement by Sarah Clark when she left Fayetteville, Arkansas last month. My intent was not to duplicate, copy or paint a realistic painting from the arrangement, but to transfer my interpretation of what the flowers look like onto the canvas.
After painting this canvas, I started a large one…and it is coming along, but I have a lot more work to do on it. I can’t wait to get back into the studio today. If you would like to purchase this painting, or any others, please contact me.
