A Lot Going On

"A Lot Going On"
36" x 36" Oil, oil bars and crayon on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Floral
One of my main objectives in this piece was to explore a border with the very bold floral.  I used several different tools, many brushes and Woody crayons and oil bars. It took a while, but I am at a point that I think it is finished, and it is drying in the studio.  It's a fun and whimsical painting.  Thanks for looking at my work....Kay

Crazy Mermaids

Crazy Mermaids
Pencil, Ink and Watercolor on Watercolor Paper/Journal
I got carried away and a little obsessed with mermaids while in Greece.  I started with a pencil drawing, then worked in ink and then painted with watercolors.  I wanted this to be loose, colorful and whimsical.  I had so much fun with this, and because I did not travel with my oils, I was forced to explore the world of pen, ink and watercolors.  Thanks for looking at my blog...Kay

Penny Lane

Penny Lane
This doggie painting is very whimsical...and playful. Just like the subject matter, Penny Lane. I thought I would post this painting since I am babysitting Penny for our son, Blake. She is full of energy, always happy, eager to fetch a tennis ball...really fun to have around the house. I painted this last year for Blake....I know he misses Penny alot, but she is loving all the attention John and I give her. Thanks for viewing my blog...I had a great day at the studio yesterday, and have four paintings in the works. I hope you have an artful and creative day!

Fenced In At Fuel City

Fenced In At Fuel City
Oil on Canvas
24" x 24" Gallery Wrap Canvas
This donkey lives in downtown Dallas...at Fuel City. He is always eager to come to the fence, possibly looking for food. He isn't as vibrant and colorful in real life, but he does have a colorful personality. This painting is the third in a series, Fenced In. In this series of paintings an animal is fenced in...usually behind a barbed wire fence. It is hard to believe that this fellow is living blocks away from downtown Dallas, off Industrial Blvd. Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing this whimsical contemporary oil painting. This painting will be entered in the "Hecho in Dallas" Art Exhibit at the Latino Cultural Center of Dallas, along with two other oil paintings. Thanks for viewing this blog!

Penny Lane

Penny Lane. . .on the canvas and photographed.
This is a painting of Penny Lane. She is a querky, medium size dog whose master is my son, Blake. Penny is the perkiest animal I have ever been around. This oil painting is on a 12" by 12" canvas, and was a Christmas gift to Blake. It is a fun and whimsical painting...I wanted to capture her spirit and personality in this painting. She is full of life and always at Blake's side. Since she was visiting this past weekend, I thought I would post this painting. Have a great day!!!

Lamb Chops

Lamb Chops is a bit whimsical with some vibrant colors. I used wide brush strokes and did not over paint her. If Lamb Chops could talk, I think she would have a lot to say and have a very charming personality. This painting is sold.
I started a mule painting last week after visiting Fuel City Gas Station in Dallas, and realized that mules are not as interesting as lambs. Or at least it seemed that way. I took pictures of a mule and longhorns....right in the in downtown area of Dallas. It is an amazing place to visit--- a person can fill up on gas, look at the livestock and eat the best tacos in Texas!
