Finish Line-SOLD

Finish Line
Sold
I am in a slump with my painting. So I have been going back through my photos of old paintings, and this is one painting that I really enjoyed painting. It has many characteristics that I would like to repeat in my next painting. My brushes have not cooperated with me lately, so hopefully I can get in the studio and get things going again. I don't understand why I can paint some days, and then some days it just doesn't happen. I hope my easel is friendly today.

Art is knowing which ones to keep.”

Finish Line

Finish Line
Oil on 16" x 16" canvas
SOLD
This painting sold yesterday at the studio tour. I have always like the subject matter, color, movement and balance in this painting. A very nice lady named Madge purchased this, and I have no doubt that it will be hanging in a very nice place. Thanks to Madge and all the other visitors at the studio tour...it was alot of fun and success!

"Finish Line" is at Texas Visual Arts Association Gallery in the Plaza of the Americas, located in downtown Dallas. I wanted to capture the movement and speed in a horse race. I am not a horsey person, but found painting horses to be a challenge. Belinda (a fellow studio artist) gave me alot of input on these horses, as she is a horsey person and knows them well! As usual, I put in alot of color to jazz up the painting.
