Dallas Days

Dallas Days
36" x 48" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary City Scape
Inspired by a plein air experience at White Rock Lake, I decided that I would go with a large canvas --- 36" x 48" in the studio. The subject matter was the same, with the Dallas skyline in the background, White Rock Lake and the tall grass on the hill in the foreground. Wide brushstrokes and palette knife work were used to create this cityscape. Thanks for looking at this blog! KMW

Skyline at White Rock Lake - Sold!

Skyline at White Rock Lake
Sold
12" x 16" Oil on Cotton RayMar Panel
I remember painting this en plein air with one of my painting friends, Susan.  She lives near the lake and she told me about this location, so one sunny spring day we hiked from her house to this field of tall grass, overlooking the lake and the skyline.  We had some lookers stop and chat with us.  I wanted the skyline of downtown Dallas to be recognizable but still painterly.  So I used my palette knife and impasto all the way on this one.  This painting was sold this week at Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas...so that you to Pam Massar for completing the sale! I am in the studio today working on a new painting that I am getting excited about....thanks for looking at my blog!  Kay

Dallas In The Distance by Kay Wyne - Sold

Dallas In The Distance
Commission - Sold
36" x 48" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Landscape/Palette Knife Painting
White Rock Lake is the setting for this painting.  Located just minutes from our house, I am very familiar with this scene.  I have gone to the lake to paint the skyline numerous times, but with a canvas 36" x 48", this was a studio painting.  The client wanted the Dallas skyline and the lake on the canvas with palette knife work and an impressionistic feel to the painting.  I am excited that the new client is having this painting framed, and will be hung in it's new home very soon.  Contact Kay Wyne for any comments or questions concerning "Dallas In The Distance".  KMW
