Borrowed Vases

Borrowed Vases
10" x 20" Oil on Canvas
Framed up, and available at Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas
Here's a fun little still life that I painted in the studio after one of my studio mates brought in a cute collection of hand-thrown ceramic vases.  I painted in some flowers in them once I got the vases drawn in.  Thanks for looking at my art...Kay

Borrowed Vases

Borrowed Vases
10" x 20" Oil on Canvas
Contemporary Still Life
I started this painting months ago, after one of my studio mates brought some fresh cut flowers and cute little vases in for me to painting.  I got bored, and I was getting ready to slash the canvas yesterday, when another studio mate told me to keep on painting.  So I did, and now this whimsical and abstract creation is drying in the studio.  I am glad that I pushed myself to work on it through the "ugly duckling" stage.  Thanks for looking at my blog.  Kay

Floral

This 16" x 20" canvas has lots of things going on...fruit, flowers, plates, and vases. It is loaded with color and movement. It is very painterly, and it was one of my "quick" paintings that I did not labor over. Once the paint was on the canvas, I left it. I did not go back and fuss over anything. I need to see what it looks like with a frame. I hope that you enjoy it....
