Contemporary Abstract

I have been working on this abstract on and off for months.  Typically I work on canvas, but I some beautiful oil paper with deckled edges that I am experimenting with.  Using my oil paints and oil bars taped off 1 1/2 inches of border.  I wanted my lines to flow and have movement as I switched out my greys, whites and blacks.  This painting will need to be framed up.  Contact Kay with any questions or comments.  Thanks for looking.....Kay

Thank you to Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas for placing this original abstract in a collector's home.  It was custom framed and looked great hanging in it's new home.  Painting on the oil paper was fun and exciting...different than painting on panels or canvas.  Thanks for looking at my blog...Kay

Contemporary Still Life/Abstract

Using a rubber clay tool, a wipe-out tool, brushes and palette knives I pushed the paint around on the paper.  The paper is has different qualities than canvas or linen.  It seems to soak up the oils immediately, not allowing me to play with the paint.  I left a one and half inch border of white paper.  This piece was custom framed and sold at Dutch Art Gallery.  A big thank you to owner Pam Massar for framing, hanging and selling this unique piece of art.  Kay
