Dancer

Dancer
30" x 30" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Equine Painting
I loved the painting process for Dancer, which was inspired by a photograph taken at my nephew's horse show.  This painting is ready for a new home....contact Kay for more information on this contemporary equine painting.  And while I am thinking about equine art...we just got back from Charleston, SC where I found lots of wonderful subject matter to paint.....I love the horse and carriage rides through the streets, as in this pic:
And, of course the architecture is fabulous.....the old and the not so old, but buildings with lots of character and soul.  The southern charm of Charleston is something that everyone should experience....it was great!
Walking the beach is always wonderful....you see so many people.  Here Jackson is walking Rob.  I was missing my easel and paints when we were beaching it...maybe next trip can be a painting trip!
And we were able to spend some time with old friends and family!  Great trip.  I hope to work on some new paintings inspired by this trip.
Thanks for looking at my blog....have a great day!  Kay

Spirit of the Race by Kay Wyne

Spirit of the Race
30" x 30" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Equine Painting
True confessions:  I did not paint this painting this week for the Paint Challenge.....I came up short today for a new painting because the heat went out in the studio.  It was just too darn cold to get creative and sling paint.  So, I am pulling this colorful painting out and posting.  I wanted the canvas to be bold, colorful and full of energy.  This painting is hanging at the studio, and is for sale.  Contact Kay with any questions or comments.  Thanks for looking at this blog, and stay warm!  It's cold in Dallas!  Kay

Finish Line

Finish Line
16" x 16" Oil on Canvas
Sold
Contemporary Equine Painting
This painting was painted several years ago, and I was looking at it because I have two equine paintings on my easel right now.  I need to put the finishing touches on them.  Today is Day 20 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days, and although it might appear that I have not been painting ---- I have.  I have forgotten to take my camera to the studio, and need to finish up everything that I am working on.  Thanks for looking at the art posted here....Contact me for more info on my art.  Thanks, Kay

Lickety Split

Lickety Split
48" x 48" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas
Contemporary Equine Art
With a few details to go, a few strokes here
and there....it could be completed today.
I want to work on the eyes, and have a
critique on it at the studio.  It is always
good to have some input from other
artists.  I wanted the horses to be bold,
energetic and colorful with lots of
movement and personality.  My
reference photos for this painting was
from three different sources/photos that
I took at different times and locations.  The
background and foreground has changed
from the initial composition.  More work
in the studio today, as I am starting a
new series for 2014!

on this painting.  Today is Day 4 of the
