22 Quail Eggs

22 Quail Eggs

8" x 16" Oil on RayMar Panel

Contemporary Still Life

Day #6 Strada Easel Challenge

I received these quail eggs in this egg carton, and decided to just paint them in it.  Painting the carton was a challenge...and it was a little time consuming since I was doing it from a still life set-up in the studio.

Painting from life forces you to really look and make decisions while painting.  This painting was finished in two days.  Thanks for looking....KMW

6" x 6" oil on cotton panel

This little study sold this week at The Dutch Art Gallery. It was a still life that I set up in the studio. I was rambling through the studio kitchen looking for an interesting piece of fruit or vegetables to paint, and came across the egg carton and eggs. Thanks for viewing my art...please contact if me would like to purchase any of my paintings. kay@kwyne.com

Brown Eggs

"Brown Eggs" is painted on a 6" by 6" panel. I was scrounging around at the studio looking for something to paint, and I found some nice brown eggs that Karen had. She had taken the time to blow them out. So I did not have to worry about breaking an egg! This was a quick one. I like the shadows on this oil painting, and the subject matter. I need to find some real pretty eggs...maybe I will go to Central Market or Whole Foods today. If anyone has a good source for pretty eggs...in differnt colors. spotted, flecked, different sizes, please let me know. Thanks!
