I worked on this little painting yesterday in the studio...I have painted this mid-western piggy several times....this one was on a small canvas.  He is walking through the grass, looking around. I remember the day that I took the pic of this guy on an Amish farm in Illinois, several years ago.  The oils are thick and juicy, with brush strokes and texture. This painting is sold, but I want to paint more piggies in the near future, so I thought I would think about layout and composition now.  I saw some pigs and hogs at the Texas State Fair last week, and that was inspiration to get into the studio and paint.  John and I went to the Pig Races at the Fair...that was fun!  Thanks for looking at this blog....I will have some new roosters posted soon, as I have four unfinished ones on my easel.  Kay
