I am working on my values, and in doing so I am painting the same painting over and over. I seem to do well at the beginning of a painting to put in my darks, but somewhere down the line I let go of that thought and my darks disappear into the mid-tones. I have painted this jar of flowers three times....this is the second painting. So after I work on a commission today, I am going to paint it again for the fourth time. I had a critique session at the studio, and it was obvious to me that my darks need to get darker, and my lights need to get lighter in all of my paintings. Thanks for looking at my paintings....Kay
