Red Rooster after two days of painting...This canvas is extremely wet. After thick application of paint with a wide brush, I started layering the paint with a knife. The paint needs to set up before I finish the eyes and hit him with some hi-lites. I don't know if I am going to the studio today or not. If I do go, I need to let this one rest and work on something else. Have a warm and artful day.
Kay, I love, love your painting. I've done some roosters but small and nothing on this scale and wow how dramatic. Now I want to paint a monster rooster.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments on the Rooster. I can't wait to work on this guy tomorrow...I need to put some final touches on this Red Monster....and name the painting. I have had several people (including my Mother) tell me that this rooster looks pretty darn mad. A mad rooster......hmmmmm.....
