Contemporary Abstract

I have been working in the studio this past week, exploring some new color combos.   One of my studio mates had brought me a beautiful photograph of pink peonies, and I started with that as inspiration. This abstract started out as a floral, and morphed into something else.  I had a very good time working on it, using lots of thick juicy oils.  At the end I wanted some calligraphy and some smaller strokes, so I used a willow charcoal stick and a small tool made for ceramics.  I like the movement and the color palette on this canvas...it's happy and fun!  Thanks for looking at my blog.  Contact Kay for more info on the art posted here.  Thanks, Kay
