On my easel...

Things were not working for me yesterday at the studio...I had been working on the above painting of the five race horses, and all of the sudden I decided it needed to go. Instead of trashing the canvas, I applied thick coats of naples yellow, warm grey and white with the palette knife. In a minute of frustration I painted it all out and went from a horizontal to a vertical canvas. Funny how things can change so quickly. I had originally purchased this large canvas to do a contemporary cowboy painting...and I think that was in the back of my mind as I was working on the horses. Whatever I was doing, I wasn't happy with it. I am taking a break today after yesterday's annoying experience and tackle a new painting tommorrow. Thanks for viewing this blog.
