This painting was commissioned by a Mimi-----she contacted me this summer and wanted a painting with a couple of turkeys. Mimi had seen some of my rooster and chicken paintings and wanted a painting for her home in New Hampshire. It was fun working with her and creating this piece for her home, and a gift to her husband. Sometimes you need a little "push" to paint something different...and this painting did that. I had not painted turkeys before....and learned alot about them when researching them. Thanks for viewing this blog, and thanks to Mimi!!! To see more of my art, visit my website at www.kwyne.com.
This contemporary turkey sold at The Dutch Art Gallery Dallas TX. Thanks to owner Pam Massar who sold it to a collector from California. I had just finished painting it, and had not put a title on it yet. The photograph that I used for inspiration was taken down in the hill country of Texas a couple of years ago at a painting workshop. I am anxious to see this painting framed up. Thanks for viewing....Kay
This contemporary turkey sold yesterday at The Dutch Art Gallery Dallas TX. Thanks to owner Pam Massar who sold it to a collector from out of state. Also a big thanks to Mimi....who encouraged me to paint a turkey several months ago, a creature that had not made it to my easel until I was asked to do a commission. I have painted many roosters and chickens, but for some reason, the Tom Turkey had not been attempted. Thanks for viewing my blog...we have returned from a eight day trip to Maine, so I have some ideas and wonderful inspiration for some new paintings! Thanks, Kay
This painting is a 9" x 12" painting of a cow from a ranch in Columbus, Texas. I had taken a photograph of this bovine beauty several years ago, and I was in the mood to paint something different this week. He will look great framed up. If you are interested in this painting, please contact Kay at email@example.com. He will be moving to a gallery once he is dry. Thanks, Kay
