White Rock Lake Plein Air by Kay Wyne

White Rock Lake in January
12" x 16" Oil on RayMar Cotton Panel
Contemporary Palette Knife Painting
January in Dallas can be dicie, icie and just plain miserable when it comes to painting outside.  But yesterday was such a clear, warm and sunny day that I set out to paint at White Rock Lake with a friend.  We were perched in a very area of the lake, overlooking the water and land and the Dallas skyline.  We had a great day, and after an hour and a half, we had our paintings.
Here is my set-up overlooking the lake and the skyline in the far away distance.
Here is a pic of the lake view that I painted.  I wanted to capture the crisp clean feeling of the day....even though it was January the colors were not the best.  I can't wait to go back to the same location when it is warm and the flowers are out.  Thanks for looking at this blog and the art.  Contact Kay for purchasing info.
