Martin Ranch Cow

This lovely cow lives at the Martin Ranch in South Texas, near Columbus. Wait a minute, I think it is the Martin Farm. Anyway, last March the artists at Studio Art and Soul and a few other creative individuals went to John Martin's place (notice I did not say Ranch or Farm because I am not sure what it is.) I took alot of photos of cows. I finally finished this one today. Signed it. It has been in the works for about 6 months....but I got bored with her, and put her away for months. Now she is out!!!!As my son, Blake was driving the Polaris around in the pasture, I was taking pics of these creatures. This one just stared at me. I have yet to name her, so I am open to any suggestions. My first cow I painted was Elsie, so that name is out. I was thinking about Harriett because she had big, hairy eye brows and eye lashes.

ReplyDeleteMy neighbor, Jamie told me never to name a cow that you were going to sell. She said, how about 163. (that is her tag number.) Now I do like the name Mae.....I will think about it! Thanks.
