Prickly Pear I - by Kay Wyne

Prickly Pear I
16" x 12" Oil on RayMar Cotton Panel
Contemporary Cacti Landscape
Finished!  This was fun to paint.  The shapes and colors of the prickly pear cactus are so interesting, and I was able to exaggerate the colors.  I have a companion piece, Prickly Pear II that I will post tomorrow.  This painting is drying in the studio, but is available.  Thanks for looking at my blog...Kay Wyne

  1. To me, it looks like the cactus is growing in a thriving underwater habitat! Never heard of water cactus, but you might be on to something. I like the different colors and view on your vision of cactus.

    1. Thanks! They are interesting for sure. Maybe my next one will be a large cacti.
