Contemporary Floral Painting
Starting with a photograph of John's roses, I quickly added some other flowers to the canvas. This painting is bold, colorful and graphic. It has brushstrokes that you can see, along with palette knife work, both creating lots of texture. This painting is hanging at the studio drying, and while I may make some minor changes, it is completed. The thick paint will take a while to dry, and then I will need to varnish. I really like this one, Kay. Especially how all the little flowers bounce the color throughout the painting.
ReplyDeleteThanks, April.....I have been experimenting with black backgrounds. I started two yesterday in the studio...they are roosters with the dark background....makes it more dramatic.
