Maidrite 2009

Today's painting is of the Macomb, Illinois Maidrite. It was built around 1926, and is barely standing. The Maidrite served up steam burgers. The sign is very cool...very retro. The shadows add interest to the simple building and sign. The sign has been there on Jackson Street forever. I am wondering if the building is still standing. This oil painting is on a 9" x 12" canvas, ready to be framed. I have several Maidrite paintings that I am working on...more to come!
