Our weather has been good for the past week, and John and I have been to the lake several times. I spotted this egret standing in the reeds along the shoreline. And loved how he is tucked away in the dense growth with the lake in the distance. I painted this one in the studio, and used my artistic license to add color to the reeds. It took several sessions to paint, as I needed the layers of oil to dry before I applied more paint...not wanting to create mud. This painting is drying in the studio.
