Sitting on my easel is this small 9" x 12" oil painting on linen. I was getting organized yesterday at the studio and was trying to make some decisions on a large painting that has been bothering me for weeks. So I decided to switch gears and paint a quick 45 minute painting without any medium. I also told myself that I would use one brush and one knife. I love painting fast. No fiddling, no going back in to change details. There is so much paint on the surface that I couldn't sign it. I hope to add one or two more strokes of paint, then it will be finished. The reference photo for the sheep was taken at Heritage Village in downtown Dallas. Right now the sheep are sheered for the summer and don't have their thick curly coat. Thanks for viewing. I hope to have this guy signed and finished today. Kay
Just Waiting 36" x 36" Oil on Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Seascape Painting
This painting is hanging at Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas. My inspiration for this dinghy painting was a photograph that I took while in Maine last fall. I liked the rust, color, texture and aging on the surface of the dinghy, and the fact that it was pulled up on the rocks of the shore. Thanks for looking at the art posted here....have a great day and stay cool. Kay-I can be contacted at email@example.com or 214-532-0325.
I usually photograph my paintings without a frame, but decided to change it up this time. This is a really heavy frame with some brass details along the inside of the moulding...very handsome. I remember painting this, and I really got into the movement and let the palette knife do all the work. I sold this painting two weeks ago, but need give it a name, varnish and ship to Minnesota. Thanks for looking at my art. I have two new paintings that I was able to complete yesterday. They are drying at the studio. Look for them on tomorrow's blog. Thanks, Kay
This contemporary aspen painting just sold at Adieb Khadoure Fine Art Gallery in Santa Fe. The colors in this painting move all over the canvas...the corals and reds play off the greens, turquoise and blues. Thanks for viewing this blog and looking at my art. firstname.lastname@example.org. Have a great Saturday......Kay
This is one of my roosters I painted while doing the 30 paintings in 30 days back in January. It was a good challenge in that it made me go into the studio and paint everyday. This little painting is in a floater frame and has headed to a new home! Thanks for looking at this blog and the art posted here. email@example.com or 214-532-0325. Have an artful day......Kay
