This original oil painting is drying. I focused on the colors, wanting a soft and dreamy look. I believe this is the first time I have painted on this size canvas....it is not huge, and looks great over our sofa in the den. This contemporary abstract would be perfect for an office or home setting. Contact Kay for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org or 214-532-0325. Thanks for looking at this blog!
This little piece is finished, ready to put on an easel or frame. It is so small that a little black iron easel works very well. Contact me if you are interested in this painting....email@example.com or 214-532-0325. Thanks for looking!
This painting sold this week at the gallery. I just shipped seven large paintings to Santa Fe this week. More on the easel. Thanks for viewing this blog and my art. Kay at 214-532-0325 or firstname.lastname@example.org
I am shipping this cute little painting to the east coast tomorrow.
Thanks for the purchase, Shelly.
Oil on 6" x 6" Panel
This little painting is popping with color. It is a detour from my large pieces.....6" x 6" is very small compared to the large canvases that I usually use. It is a fun change, and I have several of these little pieces drying. They are great for gifts, and look wonderful on a small easel. Thanks for viewing, Kay at 214-532-0325 or email@example.com
This painting is for a couple in Minnesota who just built a new home, and they have a pond in the backyard. I worked with them on the colors and details of the painting. I hope that they smile and enjoy it when they see the painting in the den above the fireplace. I have seen some interior shots of the home, and it is lovely....this painting is getting ready to travel to it's new home. Thanks to the collectors who purchase and view my art....I appreciate it very much. Kay at 214-532-0325 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
I just finished this painting, and it is drying at the studio. I was pretty loose with the brush strokes in the background. The trees were painted with the palette knife....and they have texture. This size canvas is perfect for a fireplace mantel or wall space above and chair or sofa. Please contact me if you are interested in this painting. Thanks, Kay at 214-532-0325 or email@example.com.
This painting is traveling today....it is going to the Adieb Khadoure Fine Art Gallery in Santa Fe. This 36" x 36" contemporary oil painting was featured in an ad in Southwest Art magazine recently. I completed a commission yesterday, and started some new paintings. More posts tomorrow.....Thanks, Kay
36" x 36" Original Oil on Heavy Duty Gallery Wrap Canvas
This painting sold yesterday, and I am varnishing today and getting ready to ship to the east coast. We have had some interesting conversations about this painting at the studio....there are fish floating around on this canvas, and several other images that appear when the imagination allows you. I am thrilled that this contemporary abstract is going to a new home! Kay at 214-532-0325 or firstname.lastname@example.org
This original oil on cotton panel traveled to Chicago, Illinois yesterday.
Blake delivered it last night to Jim and Reggie.
It is dedicated to Jim Devers and is a colorful reminder to celebrate today.......especially with with a clean bill of health!!!! I had meant to send Jim a card or phone him, but failed to do that, so a small painting will have to do. This little 6" x 6" painting is on a iron easel.
This painting was sold through the Santa Fe gallery. I was revisiting it and looking at some of the shapes and colors...the color palette is a detour from my normal vibrant colors. I may start another abstract this size...or at least I am thinking about it. I have a commission that I am working on today, and I think I am about 80% finished on it....Thanks for viewing....Kay
One more smaller aspen painting that I have been experimenting with. Painting on a smaller scale is a change for me...after finishing this one I had to jump to a large canvas. I will post what I am working on tomorrow. Have a great day. Kay
This painting was juried into the Garden Gate Gallery Exhibit at the Dallas Arboretum. It is one of my favorite nest paintings because of the color palette and the texture. Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas dressed it up in a beautiful gold leaf frame. Thanks for looking at my art, and if you have the opportunity to visit the Dallas Arboretum, you will see beautiful, colorful and inspiring flowers all over the grounds. email@example.com
I was working on some different sizes of RayMar panels....much smaller than my normal size canvas that I usually paint on. I ordered some new palette knifes, and once I got the shipment it was clear that my knifes have had a rough life. They have been damaged and lost the crisp straight edge....so glad to have some new palette knifes! Thanks for viewing this blog and my art....Kay
Wide brush strokes, palette knives and oil sticks were used to create this original abstract painting. Cool blues, violets and turquoise oils are layered on the canvas. Contact Kay for more information on this painting. Thanks, Kay 214-532-0325 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
This abstract aspen painting is the first of a series of smaller paintings. It was a challenge for me because I love using large brushes and big palette knives when I paint. I used a #8 Monarch and a # 24 knife on a small cotton panel. A real change-up for me. This painting will be framed once it is dry. Thanks for viewing...Kay at 214-532-0325 or email@example.com.
This rooster is filling the canvas with attitude. He is colorful and full texture. I thought he was completed several days ago, but I kept going back to him and adding some details. I painted it on a heavy duty canvas, so it is pretty good size, and he has a presence when he hangs on the wall. I experimented with the background color, which is a mixture of many hues of blue and green paint....nothing straight out of the tube. He is drying at the studio...thanks for looking at my art and please contact me if you are interested in purchasing this rooster. Kay at 214-532-0325 or firstname.lastname@example.org
